Terms of Use
Effective: May 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Kin website and any related services operated by New Standard Technology, Inc. ("New Standard," "we," "us," or "our"). By using this site, you agree to these terms.
Who this applies to
These terms apply to anyone who visits or uses kin.newstandard.ai or any other website or service we operate. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our site.
What you can do
You may use our site for lawful purposes: to learn about Kin, to request early access, and to purchase a license. You may not use our site in any way that violates applicable law, infringes anyone else's rights, or interferes with the operation of the site.
Specifically, you may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or our systems.
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the site without our permission.
- Transmit any content that is harmful, offensive, or unlawful.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Use the site to distribute spam or unsolicited communications.
Software license
When you purchase Kin, we grant you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the software on hardware you own or control. This license is for your household's use. You may not sublicense, resell, or redistribute Kin. The license does not expire and is not tied to a subscription.
Kin is licensed software, not a service. Once you purchase it, it runs on your hardware. We don't control it, and we can't take it away. Your license is yours as long as you own it.
Intellectual property
Everything on this site — the text, design, graphics, logos, and software — belongs to New Standard or its licensors. The Kin name and logo are trademarks of New Standard Technology, Inc. You may not use them without our written permission. You are welcome to share links to our site and reference our products in a factual way.
Updates and upgrades
Bug fixes and minor updates are provided free of charge. Major feature upgrades may be offered as optional paid upgrades. Your existing version of Kin will continue to work regardless of whether you choose to upgrade. We will always be clear about what is free and what is not.
Third-party links
Our site may link to third-party websites, such as hardware retailers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. A link does not mean we endorse the site.
Disclaimer of warranties
Our site and software are provided as-is. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the site or its content. We may update, change, or take down content at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, New Standard is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or software. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your Kin license.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless New Standard and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site or your violation of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the effective date when we do. Continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
