The program is simple so there's nothing to game and nothing to misunderstand. Here's everything you need to know.
When do I get paid? +
Commission triggers only when a referred visitor completes a purchase at $96. If they click your link, visit the site, and buy within 30 days, you earn. If they don't buy, you don't. There's no commission for clicks, sign-ups, or free installs. Paid conversions only.
Is there a cap on how much I can earn? +
Standard affiliates have no cap. You can earn $20 on as many conversions as you generate. Influencer affiliates earn $40 per conversion on the first 1,000 conversions, after which the rate automatically drops to the standard $20. If you're converting at serious scale, reach out. We'd love to have a deeper conversation about what that partnership looks like.
Can I refer myself or get credit for my own purchase? +
No. Using your own link to buy Kin, or having a household member use it, is not eligible for commission. Flagged self-referrals will result in the commission being voided and may lead to removal from the program.
Is influencer approval automatic? +
No. The influencer tier requires a separate application and is not automatically granted. If you meet the 100,000 follower minimum, you can apply through our affiliate platform and a member of the team will review your channel, content focus, and audience fit. We're looking for creators whose audiences genuinely overlap with the families Kin is built for. Approval is at our discretion and we'll aim to respond within five business days.
How long will this program last? +
We review our referral strategy on a quarterly basis, so rates and terms are subject to change at any time. That said, we plan to keep the program in place for as long as possible. Word-of-mouth is central to how Kin grows, and we want to reward the people who are helping us get there. Any material changes will be communicated to active affiliates with at least 30 days notice.
Can I recruit other affiliates and earn on their referrals? +
No. The program is intentionally flat: you refer someone, they buy, you get paid. There's no downstream earning on people you recruit into the program. This keeps the structure simple, legally clean, and free from multi-level marketing dynamics that we don't want anywhere near Kin.
What are the disclosure requirements for creators? +
FTC disclosure is mandatory for all influencer-tier affiliates. Any content that promotes Kin via your affiliate link (video, post, story, caption, newsletter) must include a clear disclosure of the commercial relationship. "#ad" or "#sponsored" must be visible in the post itself, not buried in a caption or omitted. This is a legal requirement, not a preference. Non-disclosure is a violation of the affiliate agreement and FTC guidelines, and liability for non-disclosure falls on New Standard as the brand.
How does payment work? +
Commissions are tracked and paid automatically through our affiliate platform (Rewardful). You'll connect a payment method when you sign up. Payouts are processed on a monthly basis. Anyone who earns $600 or more in a calendar year will receive a 1099. The platform collects your W-9 during onboarding so there's nothing to chase down later.
What qualifies as a valid referral? +
A valid referral is a new customer who clicks your unique affiliate link and completes a $96 purchase within the 30-day attribution window. The customer must be a first-time buyer with no prior purchase history. Purchases by existing customers, customers who already had your link in a previous session that expired, or purchases made directly without using a tracked link do not qualify.
Can I use paid advertising to promote my affiliate link? +
You may use paid social media promotion with your affiliate link, provided you include proper disclosures. You may not run paid search ads that target Kin's brand terms ("Kin AI," "New Standard Technology," "kin.newstandard.ai") or use our brand name in ad copy without prior written permission. Bid on your own terms or general category terms only.
Participation in the Kin referral program constitutes acceptance of the full affiliate agreement, available at sign-up. New Standard Technology, Inc. reserves the right to modify commission rates, eligibility requirements, or program terms with 30 days' notice to active affiliates. We reserve the right to remove affiliates for fraudulent activity, misrepresentation, or material violation of the agreement at any time.
